What To Expect in Therapy
My approach is best described as eclectic, because therapy isn't one-size-fits-all. I take time to understand your unique strengths and then help you build on them using techniques drawn from ACT, CBT, ERP, and somatic approaches. You lead the way in our sessions, it's your time and space. I offer honest feedback and share practical tools and resources if you want them. I may offer you podcasts, videos, social media accounts, handouts, books, and groups to consider between our sessions without pressure. While I have experience working with a variety of mental health conditions and life challenges, if you are here and identify with chronic illness, trying to navigate the medical system, late diagnosed neurodivergent or exploring this possibility, and/or struggling with parenting stress and burnout -- I want to work with you!
On a personal note: I'm a neurodivergent, pretty crunchy, sarcastic mom to one medical needs child, two senior dogs, a cat, some fish, a ton of plants, and my 12 year old sourdough starter. In addition to my private practice, I have worked in community mental health as an outpatient clinician and public schools as a School Social Worker. Special interests include: holistic healing, everything nature especially if I can grow it or spot it on a hike, and the intersection of physical and mental health. I fall in and out of hobbies and practices like yoga, meditation, and Qigong. I consider myself a holistic person, but I appreciate and utilize both Eastern and Western medicine.
If you think we'd be a good fit, reach out — I'll be upfront about whether I can meet your needs. I love what I do and I can't wait to hear from you!
